What is “Select” basketball?

Select basketball is a non-profit feeder program for a high school team, in contrast with an “AAU” or “club” team which is independent and usually for profit.

When will tryouts be?

For Girls it will be 9/15/25 7:00-8:00 pm and 9/16/25 6:00-7:15 pm

For Boys it will be 9/15/25 8:15-9:15 pm and 9/16/25 7:30-8:45 pm

Do I have to live within the Sammamish High School boundaries to play for Sammamish Select Basketball?

As long as we play in PEAK and not ETL, anyone can play for Sammamish Select. However, we will give priority to players who are in the SHS boundaries.

How much does it cost?

Player costs for the 2025-26 season is $650 (includes team fees and uniforms). We offer a limited number of need-based scholarships. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please contact us at shs.select@gmail.com.

When are practices?

Practices will be twice per week, 90 minutes each practice. Tentatively for 2025-26, practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays between 6:00-9:00 pm.

Can my child play up a grade?

Yes, based on space, skills, and maturity level.

When is the Fall/Winter season?

The Fall/Winter season run from early October through early March. Mercer Island PEAK league runs from Dec-early March. Games will be on Saturday and/or Sunday.
